Exhaust stud snapped, and after attempting removal via drilling, heating, extractor, drilling some more... I said screw it (no pun intended baha), I'll just re drill and tap, and whatdayaknow, the remaining bit came out with the friggin tap! Well lady doddy I guess I can still party! Anywho, makin real progress on his truck this week, to make room for yet another pickup load of work in my driveway!

Not much for diesels but radiator and power steering hoses, suuure! 2015 Silverado 3500HD with a Duramax got a little booboo and left juices flowing where they shouldn't. New radiator, both radiator hoses, some EGR cooler delete hoses, and all three power steering hoses. About 10 hours of fun, and people wonder why diesels are so expensive to get worked on. She went home tonight though, happy as a clam.

The van got some extra love this weekend! Big shout out to Jason Johnson and Johnson's Auto Body in Garden City for getting the roof of the van looking good and reviving the life of the van's dome! Had to strip the original paint down to bare metal, followed by DTM primer and a layer of bed liner, finished with a nice white paint! Absolutely worth the work involved and got to kick it with my boy for the weekend!

Yep, that's what happens when a car sits for years with half a tank of ethanol fuel in it... Trying to help a gal get her 97 Protege back on the road for her kids and this was the surprise waiting for me! Needless to say I'm just replacing the whole fuel tank sending unit and fuel injectors, obviously fuel filter, and cleaning the tank and fuel lines before even trying to fire her up. Already stuck a new battery in it and changed the oil/filter in preparation for first revival start but no fuel pressure so I dug in and here we are...
I'll be back with new parts and lots of gloves!

2003 Ford F150, with a 2V 5.4, iykyk...
Haven't done one of these repairs for quite a long while, but it proved to be like riding a bike! Came out perfect, and I haven't figured out how to upload pics from my new Boroscope, but I got to get her dirty and love it! Thanks Cornwell and Thinkcar! New spark plug and coil in that hole and voila! Purrs like a kitten again! 315k miles, I'm surprised it went this long for its first spark plug thread repair and it's only a matter of time; hopefully they canne the rig for something that isn't the near the top of the list for worst engine or crash test rating, but at least it's back on the road!
Big jobs coming up next week and a lil surprise a-comin' this weekend! Stay tuned!

Happy Labor Day! I worked a little bit mostly relaxing today. I busted out the work vans rear u joints, and working on sorting out the carrier bearing/pinion angles to resolve what's left of a driveline vibration at higher speeds. I've also had a reoccurring issue with the front brakes getting/staying too hot and warping not only the rotors but the pads!?! I'll be getting new drilled rotors and heavy duty pads, and maybe rear disc conversion because I'm sick of blowing the dust out of the drums.
Next weekend the vans getting a little color and a fresh coat of white, at least on the roof... Stay tuned...

2009 F150 with a 6R80 transmission, fluid leak from the pass through socket (electrical bulkhead connector). The first pic is the part at fault, should have been a recall but updated part at least replaces it; the second pic is the underside of the transmission with the pan removed, and that white tab is the locking piece that holds the connector in to the internal motherboard or whatever; third pic is of the faulty part and it's surrounding lack of space lol. Got her done and no mo' leaks!
I don't get too far into transmissions but I can fix external leaks and service them, etc.
Anywho, I hope everyone has a safe labor Day weekend!

We made big leaps yesterday on the gorgeous '58 Corvette I've been helping get on the road safely; the steering gear/column assembly is completed and installed, power/front disc brake conversion completed, with just a few final touches before the Vette is road worthy!!! The steering gear had been removed or disassembled or whatever by previous owner and a few parts are missing so we're just waiting on those. Need to finish bleeding the brakes and adjust the brake light switch but it feels good to make such great headway.
I'll get pictures of the car once it is off the jack stands!
