[BLUE SPRINGS, MO November 7, 2018 —] Terry Murphy Race Cars is proud to announce the Opening of Car Punkz Speed Shop on Saturday November 10, 2018 at 10AM
1113 NW Knox Street in Blue Springs Missouri.

The first question is a simple one, “Terry, why a speed shop?” The answer is just as simple, “I have the experience of thirty-five years racing and winning. I can help you in one of two ways: I can build your car from the frame up, or I can help you build your own car. The choice is yours.”

Terry started racing in high school, back in 1975, and he has been winning and helping others win ever since; “Racing is my passion, and I take it very seriously. People have helped me, and it has always been my practice to help those who are willing to learn.” Added Terry Murphy.

Stop in at Car Punkz Speed Shop to get a good idea of the best parts to make your car a winner. We can help you build the chassis, wire it, plumb it, set up the suspension, and take it out to the track to tune it all in.

Whatever you need, from bumper to bumper from top to bottom and all in between we can help you pick the parts and we can guide you on your installation.

It has been a long road to get to opening day, which will be 11-10-18 at 10 am. Please come by and take a look, we will try to make it a place we’re you will want to stop and check out our inventory weekly or just a daily stop where all are welcome. We want to thank all the people that have helped make this dream come true. From tile to the ceiling and everything in between we are proud of the work we have accomplished with you. We hope to see you all on 11-10-18. We will have a grand opening in the spring and promised to give you plenty of notice.

How It All Started....

Terry Murphy started racing in 1975, while still in high school, by taking his 427 CI L88 Chevy engine powered 1968 Firebird to the track. The serious passion for racing is still with him to this day. When asked about his most memorable victory, the answer comes quickly, “it was a 1995 IHRA National Event. I won Top Sportsman. It was televised by ESPN.” Murphy is a tried and true competitor winning many Pro Mod and Outlaw Quick 8 races including a NHRA Pro Mod race at a Kansas City area Track in 2005. He is tied as one of only two drivers with the most wins in KCIR’s Fastest Door Slammer races including the honor of being the driver with the most appearances in the finals. The journey to the launch of Car Punkz Speed Shop continued when he built his first car in 1986, followed ten years later by opening his first chassis shop. His success building his own winning cars gave him a unique perspective building race cars for his customers. Terry can build the tube frames only, or completely assemble the car. In talking about the cars he’s built, Terry said, “Each car I’ve built, for Pro Mod or Top Sportsman, has won Best Engineered, or Best Appearing car in tracks across the United States” Car Punkz Speed Shop is for the person who is serious about building the best car. The team can take you out into the chassis shop, show you where the parts are used, how they are installed, and the best way to enhance the performance of your car. We can do this because we bring thirty-five years of experience racing and winning.
