If you would like a custom Sissy Bar just let me know. I use high grade stainless steel and these babies will last forever. I can make these to your dimensions for a true custom fit. This is the Peace Sign model but other designs can be used. The pictured unit also incorporates an attached hidden wire taillight but can be changed. This unit is 36" tall, made of 9/16" high grade stainless steel. I made this piece for a 1979 Ironhead that I converted to a hard tail.. All hand polished. Prices vary with this unit with taillight is 425$. Turn signals not included.

Today I worked on the Chopper. After getting the rear section ready to start adding metal I slid 3/4" solid bar in to strengthen the area where 2, 1" tubes will meet. I added a mock up engine to get an idea how it's going to look. With the backbone at this angle it is about 12" up in the front but I'm not even ready to worry about that. I start at the rear section and move forward. Once I make some axle plates and weld to the new tubes Ill start designing mounts for the seat. Lots to do.

Hard-tailing sportsters has become very popular and with good reason. they look cool. There are 4 ways to do this. Buy a hard tail frame, buy a weld on hard tail section, buy a bolt on hard tail section or build your own. I wouldn't consider a bolt on section. My firs conversion was a weld on section that went great but there isn't much room for customization with these units. Stretch, drop and tire width is set. My current conversions will be completely designed and built by converting stock Ironhead frames. One will be a Digger style bike. It will be stretched 4 inches in the rear. Frame rails will have 4.75 inches of ground clearance. It will have some rise in the down tubes and some extension of the backbone to a springer front end. Final rake and trail will be set later. Hard tail no. 2 will be a late '60s early '70s style chopper. Lots of rise in the front with a long springer front with near 40 deg or rake. The entire rear section will be stretched and built around a cool old Drag Specialties seat. The seat will also be modified to extend high on a cool tall handmade sissy bar.

Back to chopping another Sportster. This one will be more radical than the last. As usual. From stock to custom. I am getting ready to cut the down tubes and raise the triple trees. Final rake, trail and wheelbase will be fine tuned on a frame fixture.
