In 2022, the City of Biloxi created the Fred Haise Landing, located at the Lighthouse Park parking area south of the Biloxi Lighthouse, in honor of Biloxi native and Apollo 13 astronaut, Fred Haise.

Biloxi, the hometown of Apollo 13 astronaut Fred Haise, has had a real problem with birds and the statue honoring this hometown hero. The first attempt to solve the problem inspired a new character: Punk Rock Fred!
