Coastal pro tip: a small shop vac is the unsung hero of beach-day RV life.

If you’ve ever crossed back over US Highway 90 after some Gulf time (yep—the beach is across the road from Gulf Beach RV Resort), you already know sand finds everything: floor mats, seat creases, sliding door tracks… even the “nope” palmetto bug moments.

Why a compact wet/dry shop vac beats a normal vacuum:
- Handles sand without wrecking rollers/filters as fast
- Tackles damp footprints + cooler spills with less panic
- Grabs bigger debris (shell bits, patio grit, pet hair clumps) fast

Quick post-beach cleanup routine (takes minutes):
1) Shake towels/chairs outside
2) Vacuum mats first (dry sand is easiest)
3) Crevice tool for seat seams + door tracks
4) Finish with trunk/gear zone

Bonus tip: Store it where sand actually enters (trunk, pass-through, or near the door), and empty the canister outside—especially if you used it for any “bug protocol.”

Poll time: Do you keep a small shop vac for sand, palmetto bugs, and quick cleanups?
- Yes—lives in the trunk
- Yes—garage essential
- No, but I need one
- No—broom/shake-only

Vote below—shop vac, broom, or handheld? We’re curious what Gulf Beach RV Resort guests swear by.

Sunset dinner plans while you’re staying at Gulf Beach RV Resort? Put Shaggy’s Gulfport Beach on your must-try list.

Right on Beach Boulevard with an unobstructed view of the Gulf, it’s the kind of laid-back spot that turns a simple meal into a whole coastal moment—especially at sunset. Indoor + outdoor seating, open daily at 11am (easy for lunch or dinner).

What to order:
- Award-winning fish sandwich in Mississippi (Captain’s Catch flounder sandwich)
- Coconut shrimp or fish tacos
- Oysters on the half shell
- Blue crab claws (fried or sautéed with remoulade)
- Royal red shrimp rolls
And yes… it’s a great place to sip a cold margarita with your Gulf view.

Slide sticking in Gulf Coast heat + humidity? A light silicone routine can save you the squeaks.

Why it happens:
Heat can make rubber slide seals feel tackier, and humidity + road grime adds a sticky film—so the seal “grabs” the slide wall after sitting closed.

Quick fix checklist (thin film beats heavy spray):
1) Clean first: mild soap + water on the seal and the slide contact surface. Rinse and dry.
2) Extend the slide partway so you can reach the contact points.
3) Spray onto a cloth (not directly) to avoid messy overspray.
4) Wipe a thin, even layer on the wiper seals + bulb seals—especially corners and the top edge.
5) Cycle the slide in/out once, then wipe off any excess.

What this helps (and what it won’t):
- Helps reduce friction, chatter, and minor seal “roll”
- Won’t fix a misaligned slide, binding mechanism, or torn/cracked seals (that’s repair time)

If you’re rolling through Biloxi and prepping for coastal weather, Gulf Beach RV Resort makes a convenient home base—US Hwy 90 across from the beach and an easy drive to local attractions.

What’s your go-to: 100% silicone spray, a seal conditioner, or 303-style protectant? Drop your routine below—let’s help each other out.
