This one’s been on the lift this week — exhaust manifolds and broken bolts on a 2019 Dodge 5.7 HEMI.

These engines are known for it. Heat cycles, rust, and time take their toll, and before you know it you’ve got ticking on cold starts, exhaust leaks, and bolts that snap instead of coming loose.

This is one of those repairs where experience matters. Broken exhaust bolts aren’t just “tight bolts” — they take patience, the right tools, and a plan so things don’t turn into a bigger mess.

If you’ve got a tick, exhaust noise, or smell — especially on a HEMI — don’t ignore it. Catching it early can save a lot of time and money.

🔧 Shop Talk Thursday

Head gaskets have been keeping us busy this week.

Most of the ones we see don’t fail all at once — they usually start with little signs that are easy to brush off. Coolant slowly disappearing, running hot once in a while, or a rough cold start that goes away after a minute.

We’ve seen plenty of engines saved just by catching it early… and we’ve also seen what happens when it gets pushed too far.

🚗 Tip Tuesday: If your check engine light is flashing, don’t ignore it.
A flashing light usually means a misfire that can damage your catalytic converter — one of the most expensive exhaust repairs.

👉 What to do:
• Ease off the throttle
• Avoid long drives
• Get it checked as soon as possible

Catching it early can save hundreds (or thousands) in repairs.
