A very clean 2003 Lb7 Duramax was in the shop today for a new water pump. We found that cavitation had eaten away at the pump housing to the point there was almost a hole in the aluminum.

It's not a diesel and it's not even cool but to see a 1994 Saturn with 54,000 miles and clean as a pen is pretty neat. Unfortunately, mamaw curbed it a little too hard and bent the subframe. Five hours later we had a new subframe installed and it's ready to go back in the garage.

Installed a few nice aftermarket parts on this 2019 Duramax L5P.
Upgraded engine and transmission filter kits from MDDP and the Bank's lower engine oil pan which solves the issue of not being able to drain out that last quart of oil.

In case you didn't know.... The 2017 to current Duramax ( L5P ) has a catalyst behind the turbo before the downpipe. You do not have to lift the cab to remove it but it does require a lot of work to get it out of there with a cab on. That's the kind of fun we had today.
