Decided to make the 3 hour trek to Newton Kart Klub today and we haven’t been here since 2024 when Ian was running rookie cage kart & cadet wing. First race dad may or may not have forgot to take the steering pin out and Ian headed out on the track and straight towards the berm since he could only drive straight 🤪 started P4 based off pill draw and ended P4, which gave Ian an 8th starting spot in the first feature for the trophy. He was told to keep his kart clean and move up spots if he had the opportunity/opening. He did just that and finished 4th, just one spot shy of being on the podium!
The next race he started P1 based off pill draw and stayed out in the lead for all 12 laps in the heat which put him starting 2nd in the King of the Corn feature, he got shuffled back on the first lap but fought back up. After the halfway mark this race could’ve had a whole different outcome… Ian decided for awhile to be the high side hustler and ended up riding the cushion……. that wasn’t enough for him so he added a little kiss to the wall ——— thought it was over with, and somehow the maniac kept it where he needed, never lost a spot, and stayed on 4 wheels, THANK JESUS! 🫣😬 & ended up being able finish 3rd! 🥉
The last harvest race was when all the money was on the line, they qualified for this race only, by 1st in qualifying getting disqualified…. Ian was able to secure the pole position and led all but 11 out of 30 laps in the feature. He started out like a rocket, lap traffic came into play (either lap traffic helps you or kills you), unfortunately Ian chose the high side for the lap cars while 2nd chose to go under; Ian then fell back to 2nd. He stayed calm, cool, & collected with patience and waited for his time to make a pass and take the 1st position back over where he stayed and finished the race to secure the win & his highest pay day to date of $1️⃣8️⃣0️⃣0️⃣! 🏆
Safe to say he learned his lesson, knew where he had messed up, learned from his mistakes, corrected himself and redeemed himself. 🤩
Between the Performance Karting engine & my dads set up skills I was on fire 🔥
Thank you also to my dad for all the driving & time he’s put in the last 2 weeks taking me to these races, so I could kick back relax & sleep 😴🤪
Thank you to everyone who supports and follows along on this page. Last but not least, thank you to all of my sponsors for everything they do! ❤️
