Here at Clyde’s auto repair we also offer full service diesel repair. This truck came in for some preventative maintenance on the fuel system and also for a turbocharger upgrade. We installed a full CP4 to CP3 injection pump kit and also a fleece performance turbocharger, along with a Fass lift pump system to help keep the fuel pressure consistent and also extra filtration for prolonged injector and injection pump performance.

What’s Leaking? 💧

Ever notice puddles or spills under your vehicle after it’s been sitting? Fluid leaks can mean a variety of things, but in all cases, they should be checked out. The severity of the leak could cause further damage to your car, and safety issues for you and others on the road.

What could be leaking, and what are the warning signs??

1. BRAKE FLUID:

🛑 Serious

• Clear to light brown color
• Oily texture

⚠️Brake Light Warning flashes
⚠️Brake pedal drops to the floor
⚠️There is a mushy feeling when pressing the brake pedal
⚠️Could lose all brake functionality

2. POWER STEERING FLUID:

🛑 Serious

• Clear, or red/brown color
• Thin drips from front of car

⚠️Stiff steering- very difficult to turn the wheel
⚠️Delayed response when turning the wheel
⚠️Hearing grinding or whining sound when turning the wheel

3. TRANSMISSION FLUID:

🛑 Serious

• Red to brown color
• Thick drips from middle of car

⚠️Dipstick is low
⚠️Gear slippage while accelerating
⚠️Sounds of grinding or clunking gears
⚠️Dashboard warning light comes on

4. COOLANT:

🛑 Moderate – Serious

• Green, yellow, orange, pink, or blue color
• Sticky texture

⚠️Overheating
⚠️Sweet smell inside the car or around the engine
⚠️Steam or smoke from under the hood or dashboard/vents

5. OIL:

🛑 Moderate – Serious

• Light brown to black color
• Thin syrup texture

⚠️Low oil levels
⚠️Engine making a knocking sound (which could also indicate a more serious problem)
⚠️Blue smoke (from oil burning off the engine)
⚠️Puddles or drips under your vehicle
