At 119,686 Miles I put a new catalytic converter on a 2015 Kia Soul with the 2.0 engine. Since then I've done a few more and learned that they have a oil consumption issue that is plugging up these converters. I have done them with as low as 117,000 miles. The first one I did was back with a plugged up converter again at 153,895 mi. So it only took 34,200 miles to plug up the second time and I imagine from here on out it will get worse than that if oil consumption increases. The first picture shows what it looks like inside a new catalytic converter, the second picture shows how the light will shine through a new catalytic converter, and then the other two pictures are what it looks like now and what light does not shine through it anymore.

Shop phone is fixed. AT&T tech said shelf was down and that shelf effects 96 customers but he only saw 8 reports called in. Strange so many haven't reported an issue. He said they would have been out sooner if more trouble reports were called in.

I'm required by law to keep all catalytic converters that I replace in case the EPA investigates me. Please do not expect me to return them after replacement. Thank you and have a great day.

If you are replacing a catalytic converter for a customer, it is not the same as replacing a muffler or pipe. Since the catalytic converter is an emissions device that is federally and locally mandated, documentation is just as key as proper installation.

The first picture is inside a good catalytic converter. The second picture is a catalytic converter that has melted down from a misfire. The third picture is a catalytic converter that is plugged up with the insides of the converter that failed in front of it. Some cars have one converter, some cars have two, some have three, some have four, and believe it or not there are some Ford Mustangs that have six. Have a great weekend.

I just installed a Durabox key drop in the front door for dropping off keys or payments. To pick up vehicles after hours the keys can be locked up in the vehicle if the job has been paid for.

PRIORITIES OVER PROFITS
This was a hard decision to make but it is mine to make and I want to do all I can to keep my Grandfather and mother safe. My grandfather lives here and has COPD and my mom does all his cooking.
