As the time comes for many of you to request vacation days for the 2026 calendar year, we feel obligated to inform you all that we have made the difficult decision not to hold the Summer Door Car Shootout in 2026.

Whether you attended one SDCS or all fourteen, your support, patronage, and enthusiasm for this event is what truly turned it into the "Biggest Little Door Car Race in the Midwest.”

Thank you racers for 14 awesome years. Please continue to support event sponsors; they have also played a huge role in making the SDCS special!

Thank you so much for choosing us to spend your time, energy, and money with over the past weekend. As racers ourselves, we know what kind of commitment it is to sign up for a full weekend of racing. We pour our heart and soul into bringing a premier event to a little ‘ol racetrack in the middle of nowhere. I grew up at I57 Dragstrip and I never dreamed I would be part of an event of this magnitude at my local racetrack. It is our hope we delivered an event that met your expectations and more. We couldn’t have asked for better weather over the weekend. Those 70 degree days sure beat last year’s 95 degree days. I was actually jealous that I wasn’t outside all weekend! I hope you all had a fabulous time and had safe and uneventful travels. ❤️
