Mobile mechanic call out. Usually we’d go to the offroad park to fix a rig, but today it was at the state park camp ground. These newer 5.3s are known for the coolant temp sensor failing and or wire damage at the plug. This will cause the engine fan to run at full rpm and stay on for a while after the engine is shutdown. This truck has had 2 aftermarket sensors installed within the last 10 months. Wiring is good, so an OEM sensor was installed.

2008 suburban in the shop. It came in with new brake pads, but the brakes were still making noise. So we smoothed out the rotors. The radiator was cracked so we swapped that out. The dash on this truck had multiple lights on. Airbag, ABS, Stabilitrak, and the check engine light.The oil pressure gauge was reading zero, very common on these trucks. We swapped out the sensor and screen. Found an unplugged sensor for the airbag. Replaced a wheel speed sensor for ABS. Plugged a tire and changed the oil.

Ready for back to school.
If you have apprentices I highly recommend allowing them to hook up the exhaust.

New project in shop. Customer wanted power steps for his 99 F250.
We installed an AMP Research power step kit. We had to build a bracket to hold the Amp Research control unit, since this truck already had additional aftermarket upgrades. The under door lights will definitely make getting in and out of this work truck much safer on those early mornings and late nights.

This Rubicon will be ready for Hot Springs Off Road Park once the lift kit goes on. The owner entrusted us with the axle work, but wants to tackle the Rubicon Express Inc. 2.5” lift.

Changed the axle seals and installed Poison Spider Bombshell covers front and rear. Installed TeraFlex Suspensions HD ball joints. Replaced the steering kit with RockJock 4x4 by John Currie and a JKS Manufacturing adjustable track bar.

Replacing both axle joints as part of the front end repair and upgrade on the 2012 rubicon. As you can see corrosion was unkind to the original joints. A nice set of Spicer 5-7166x joints will make sure that locked in power gets to the wheels..
