Coolant leaks on a PACCAR MX, and the hoses were showing their age.

You could patch the one that's dripping and send the truck back out. The problem is that the rest of those hoses are the same age, and the next one is usually close behind. So Jim replaced every coolant hose and every clamp, all in one visit.

While he was in there, he found that broken spring again. It's a common failure on these rigs, and we keep an eye out for it every time.

If your trucks are getting some miles and years on them, give us a call before a small leak turns into a tow.

The first cold morning of the year is when you find out which trucks were actually ready for winter.

A block heater can fail and nobody knows until a driver plugs in at 5 AM and the engine still won't turn over. Now you're looking at a late load, a service call, and a day the truck isn't earning.

In this video Jim talks about why winter checks need to happen now, before the temperatures drop. A few minutes of testing beats a morning of scrambling.

If you want your rigs checked before the first freeze, give us a call. We come to you.

When a truck throws one communication code, you check the module. When it throws a whole list of ECU timeouts at once, you stop looking at the modules and start looking at what feeds them.

That’s exactly what this call turned out to be. Multiple modules dropping out, and the most likely culprit was bad power or a bad ground somewhere in the system. So we went hunting.

What we found was corroded wiring, including the main starting cables. Those are the big wires that carry the power to crank the truck, and when they’re compromised, everything downstream feels it.

For fleet managers, here’s the takeaway: a screen full of fault codes doesn’t always mean a screen full of bad parts. Finding the root cause the first time saves you from paying for modules you didn’t need and downtime you can’t afford.

Got a truck with electrical gremlins nobody can pin down? Give us a call.

When a bolt breaks off, the first question is usually how long the equipment is going to sit. Does it have to be hauled somewhere? Who's going to get to it?

On this well drilling rig, two bolts had broken off. Instead of moving the rig, we came to it. Jim drilled out both broken bolts and extracted them on site.

Broken bolt extraction takes patience. The goal is to get the broken piece out without damaging the threads it's sitting in. The full video walks through the whole process.

If you've got equipment down and moving it isn't practical, give us a call.

Windows that work one day and quit the next. Drivers hate it, and so do mechanics, because intermittent problems are easy to misdiagnose.

This Peterbilt had window switches that only worked some of the time. A new switch alone wouldn't have fixed it. We found a bad switch and damaged wiring, and we fixed both so the problem doesn't come back next week.

We work differently. Fagan Fleet Services brings the shop to your yard. That means dealership-quality diagnostics and repair without the drop-off, the tow, or the wait.

The first cold snap always finds the weak spots. A battery that was fine in August won't turn the engine over at 5 AM in December. An air dryer that's been limping along lets moisture into the lines, and now you've got frozen valves. Fuel filters that should've been changed start plugging up the minute the temperature drops.

None of that shows up on the calendar. It shows up when your driver is sitting on the side of I-82 waiting for help.

A fall PM is the cheapest insurance you'll buy this year. We check batteries and charging, coolant protection, air dryer and air system, fuel filters and water separators, heaters and defrost, and tires, before winter makes the decision for you.

We come to you, so your trucks stay close to home while we work.

Woodchipper Part 2: Wrap Up

Quick recap: a leaking hydraulic hose flooded the dry clutch on this chipper. A dry clutch isn't built to run in fluid, so it had to be replaced.

While we had it apart, we also chased down a starter problem and an auger problem. Both traced back to the same thing: a bad switch. Instead of fighting it, we wired in a push button start.

New clutch is in, and the starting and auger issues are sorted.
