We are yet at another milestone for Kenny's 69 Mustang. This is the second round of breaking in the camshaft on his newly rebuilt 302 backed by a 4-speed standard transmission. Overall things are looking good and we're making forward progress. Our plan all along was to get the engine and drivetrain in place before doing final paint. This is to avoid the possibility of damaging or scratching any paint on the final exterior paint job. So from the underside this car is almost complete. Now it's to finish the exterior and interior.

This week has had more disassembly work and cataloging. This was a metallic blue car from factory. I'm sure it was a pretty color at the time, but it is going to look much better in a candy purple.

It's starting to look like a car again.
This is always the most tedious part of the build. Finding the correct screws after 50 years of use can be difficult and time consuming.

1969 roadrunner convertible has been on the back burner for a while. It needs quarter panels and wheel wells replaced. The problem becomes that the convertible cars were made in such low numbers, no one makes full quarter panels or wheel wells for it. The only option is to make convertible quarter out of hardtop parts as well as the wheel wells. The convertible is structured much differently than the hardtop. We will hand make the parts that aren't available.

After days of scrubbing, grease removal, glass beading rusted stamped steel parts, and assembly; we now have a 318 that is not only one color but the correct color.
Just because it didn't need rebuilding, that doesn't mean it shouldn't look good when it is put back into the car.
