Built in 1970 and launched in 1971 by my grandfather, Master Shipwright Peter Lind, for gillnetting. He built several boats through his lifetime starting with the Lind Brothers Shipyard (Hjalmer and Peter Lind) on Harris, ending with the Sea-Pal built at his home. He always wanted to fish, so him and my grandmother would take her out during the summer. We would also vacation on her, being the only gillnetter amongst the pleasure crafts. She was only in the water for 3 months, then taken home.
32' long by about 12'+ wide with a depth of 5'. He built about six boats in this building over his lifetime.
In the late 1930's Hjalmer and Peter Lind owned the Lind Brothers Shipyard. They built several boats, a couple of which are still around. One was recently sold out of Tacoma. The name of the boat was Ranger. The ad was on Craigslist said the earliest record of her was 1946 (I believe). She would have been built pre WWII and the Navy would have acquired her. The shipyard went out of business prior to the war. If you have any information about the Ranger, please message me. It may take me some time to respond, I don't check this page often.
One other boat that I'm aware of was used locally for decades, quite some time ago she was purchased by two brothers in Belize and trucked down there for use as a tour vessel. There was an article in a local magazine at the time.
