Atlanta has launched a free grocery store to support Atlanta Public School (APS) students and their families, addressing food insecurity and helping those facing financial hardship. According to Atlanta News First, the Goodr grocery store is located at the APS Student and Family Support Hub, providing essential food supplies to students experiencing housing instability or other challenges affecting their academic performance. The store will assist up to 200 families monthly, offering a variety of nutritious food options. Open four hours daily on weekdays, the initiative ensures reliable food access for APS families. Goodr Founder and CEO Jasmine Crowe-Houston highlighted that the store is available to all APS students and families, reinforcing the importance of community-driven food assistance programs in fighting child hunger.
