Some places still make you slow down without asking. You catch the courthouse square, the storefronts, the easy run of brick and glass, and it feels like a town that has known its own routines for a long time.

That tall water tower is one of those landmarks you can spot before you ever get close, and the downtown around it still feels tied to an earlier Ohio, when a good main street mattered as much as the road in or out.

Bellefontaine has always had that look of a place people pass through and then remember later. I’ve always liked towns that don’t try too hard and still leave an impression.
