Just wrapping up a drivetrain refresh on this 1970 FJ40, rebuilt in house start to finish. Transfer case rebuild, transmission reseal, new clutch with a resurfaced flywheel, new clutch hydraulics, and a rear main seal while everything was apart.
Ran a Sumo rebuild kit throughout — quality components that make the job worth doing once.

All TOYOTA Manual V8 Land Cruiser? Yes.
One of the biggest challenges with a 2UZ swap into older Land Cruisers has always been the transmission setup.
Most swaps require:
• Custom bellhousings
• Relocated transmissions
• Custom clutch systems
We wanted something cleaner.
So we designed an adapter that allows the Toyota 2UZ-FE V8 to bolt directly to the H55F 5-speed while retaining:
• Factory 2F/3F bellhousing
• Factory 2F flywheel & clutch
• Factory clutch hydraulics
• Factory transmission position in most applications
Also compatible with all UZ family engines including the 1UZ-FE and 3UZ-FE, and H41/H42 transmissions with the 10-spline input shaft.
The result is a drivetrain that feels balanced and drives naturally, using proven Toyota components.

As a follow up to our last post, here is a project that we completed and delivered prior to our move into the new shop. The is a middle eastern spec FZJ75 Troopy that we did a ton of work to. We did an R2.8/H55 swap and installed Scheel-Mann seats, front and rear ARBs, Cruiser Outfitters 70 series rear bumper, Front Runner rack and rear ladder, full solar set up, a ton of Diode Dynamics lights, a Webasto diesel heater for the rear, a factory 70 series heater for the cab and a bunch of custom accessories. The customer took possession and is planning on doing a custom build out in the cargo area for overlanding. This is one really really sweet Troopy!

So it’s been a loooooong time since we’ve posted any updates from the shop. The reason for that is that we have been extremely busy over the past year and a half and to be perfectly honest, we’ve been overwhelmed with demand for our services. We still are very busy but it’s a bit easier for us now because we moved to a larger facility where can be more efficient and for the first time in a while, we are fully staffed! Here are some pics of the new shop before and after the move. We’ll be sharing some really cool projects that we’ve completed as well as some new products that we’ve developed which will soon be available. One of those products is something that Cruiserheads have been wanting for a long time! We will be sharing more info on that soon. We are very grateful for all of our wonderful clients who trust us with their Land Cruisers; thank you for your patronage! We can’t wait to share some exciting builds that we have completed and ones that are upcoming.
