1977 Kawasaki KZ650, our way.

When we were approached about having a bit of fun with a 77 KZ650, we jumped at the chance. It was going to be an opportunity to combine our restoration knowledge and race track experience.

The proportions of the stock KZ were just too chubby. Shrinking the seat pan and taking inches from the tail helped there. Our bike needed to shed pounds as well. It ended up at 395lbs dry.

The Suspension needed to be of the highest quality while not sacrificing rake, trail and steering angle. Ohlins took care of us there.

Full Brembo brakes bring riding confidence to the highest level.

We increased the bore size, increased the compression ratio, installed CR carbs and worked directly with Hindle to bend the exhaust to our specs.

Modern wheels and our own swingarm solved the unsprung weight problem.

The paintjob takes cues from the original 77 paintjob, but modernized a bit.

It was incredibly fun to build, it's even better to ride.

Our customer's are the most patient and passionate on Earth, we are damn lucky to have them.

Currently restoring a Z1 Kawasaki. They had so many components coded on these bikes. The rear brake torsion bar uses a Y MM format. This part was produced in the 9th month of 1974.

Father/Son weekend at the track! When I seen the karts were coming back to Blackhawk Farms, I had to show Huxley. Personally I felt at 8 years old, he wasn't ready for the 2-mile track, but next year he will be, so I wanted to show him what it had to offer.

RVKC did a great job with the race, the whole weekend was very relaxed. They had classes for everyone and I even got to show Huxley Shifter Kart racing (Blackhawk is perfect length for a shifter to stretch its legs).

We had multiple opportunities to run rain tires as well, which is incredibly fun on a go-kart, but you rarely get the oppertunity to do with club racing. I learned a ton about rain setup.

I don't know if life gets better than this.
