Parking/ waiting/ working/ walking etc. along side the highway/ freeway is as deadly as beside a MISSILE-FIRING-RANGE!!!
Flat-tire = roll on shoulder @ 10mph UNTIL EXITED!
No gas/ Total Break-down = leave it & walk on the OTHER SIDE of guard-rails/ ditch etc.!
!!!Don't gamble with being mangled or killed; be smarter & LIVE to fight again another day!!!

The family claims the man apologized to them saying, "I am so sorry, I fell asleep driving."

!!!NEVER EVER SIT ALONG SIDE THE HIGHWAY/ FREEWAY!!!
- Flat tire = slow-roll to the 1st exit.
- Break-down = get out immediately & walk to safety.
- Pulled over = call 911/ pause & roll down window -to tell cops, that they'll have to follow you to safe well-lit off-roadway parking, & slowly drive away.

!!! Heads on a swivel !!!

A Michigan State Trooper narrowly avoided serious injury this morning when a suspected drunk driver crashed into their patrol car on I-75 near M-46. The trooper and others involved suffered minor injuries and were taken to the hospital. My prayers go out to the trooper and all those affected.

Heads on Swivel !

MICHIGAN STATE POLICE

This morning around 8:30 a.m., a Motor Carrier Officer (MCO) with the Metro North Post was stopped on the side of I-75 Northbound near Dix in Lincoln Park conducting a traffic stop, when his patrol vehicle was struck by another motorist.

Preliminary investigation and witness statements indicate that a Ford Explorer struck the median wall before continuing down the freeway, eventually striking the patrol vehicle, and pushing it into the back of the semi-truck.

The MCO was seated in the vehicle with his seat belt on at the time of the crash. Due to the impact, he had to be extracted from the vehicle by the jaws of life.

He was transported to DMC Detroit Receiving Hospital where he is in critical condition.
The female driver was also transported to a local hospital, where she was pronounced dead. The semi-truck driver was uninjured.

We are asking that you please continue to keep the officer and his family in your prayers. An update will be provided when more information is available.
