Job Description
Battery Service Technician/Driver
SCOPE: Works on assignments independently where judgment is required, inspects and troubleshoots problems on vehicles at assigned location.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Operates a vehicle over established route(s) to provide service and/or sell products
2. Load good and unload old (recycled) battery, verifies counts, performs basic visual inspection
3. Use of electronic devices as tablet battery tester and printer
4. Entering data into the electronic devices
5. Use of tablet or smart phones to process credit cards and collect payments from customers
6. Complete daily reports
7. Assists in training for new employees
8. Must be able to work on weekends and/or holidays
9. Maintains clean work area and follows all safety procedures
- Keeps the truck clean and organized
- Tools, equipment and parts inventory kept organized in order
EDUCATION, TRAINING & SKILLS REQUIRED:
1. Diploma or GED
2. Valid driver license and “satisfactory” driving record
3. Good read and writing skills
4. Excellent customer communication skills
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
1. Extended periods of driving
2. Frequent lifting of up to 50 pounds
3. Use of specialized tools to perform the job
4. Occasional exposure to external weather conditions
5. Bend, stretch, twist, or reach with your body, arms, and/or legs
