Apparently over the winter while I had the tank off the Blower Bike, I let the front end slam hard enough to the Left to wreck the hidden Fork Stop.
It took me a while to figure out how in the hell this thing is even put together before I could fix it before the handlebars come back and dents the tank. (I fabricated this 20 years ago in 2006).
A lot of masking, a little delicate grinding, and little welding and We’re back in business.

Exactly one year ago yesterday I pulled the 96 inch S&S Super Stock EVO engine and Magnacharger from John Salley’s Softail to replace the blown up 124 inch S&S engine in Tom’s Goldmine Pearl Pro Street.
I actually finished it and took it out for its first ride yesterday. A few screws to the throttle, a turn of the key, and it started immediately! It didn’t just start. It just sat there and idled. I couldn’t be more thrilled!
An entire year of gathering the right people who know their s**t to make this happen. It hasn’t been easy. The bike even had to go through a flash overnight flood in which it sat surrounded by 3 inches of water. What a disaster!
My Cousin Johnny(Vescovi) deserves my biggest thanks for assembling the top end, Magnacharger, push rods, and pressing new bearings in the front pulley and clutch hub. Ron Craig Jr. at Dayton Performance Cycles for ordering the Platinum Air Suspension shocks and gaskets and getting my cylinders bored. He was invaluable when it came time to order the right dished pistols.
John Salley himself for re-making the Sputhe billet primary clutch ring gear and jack shaft and machining a new bronze bushing, all of which are obsolete. Josh Beasley for doing a killer job polishing the heads and cylinders. Billy Ramsey at JE Pistons for the fantastic job on the dished low compression forged pistons.
Metal Finishing of Indiana for the flawless chrome plating on the exhaust pipes(Even though they took 8 months!) and of course Mike Stocker at Cycle Shack in Medway who originally built both engines. He was there to give advice whenever needed.
Now it’s time to get some miles on it before Tom Takes it to Daytona in October for Biketoberfest. 😎

I wet sanded and buffed the Blower Bike’s tank today. I re-cleared it last week. It looks as good now as when I first did it in 2007.
I’ve used that wooden stand it’s sitting on to Bondo, block sand, and run a buffer on every one piece tank since 1980 when I put it together. That’s 46 years and a Hell of a lot of tanks. 😎

A little while back, a painter friend I know from my Brookville shop and C&W Body Shop days, Chad Wilson gave me a Trek bicycle for free. After turning down money, I offered to paint him with artwork on it.
Chad painted a little 12”x16” aluminum panel a bright metallic Lime Green and gave it to me to do something on. I did a drawing of a spider with Harley-Davidson lettering underneath it. I masked, cut and sprayed the initial spider’s body and lettering black then got too busy to finish it. A year went by.
One night a couple of weeks ago while watching an old episode of Star Trek (Mirror, Mirror from 1967) I saw a shield in the background of one of the scenes. I was immediately inspired.
I did a drawing, cut a piece of 1/16” thick aluminum sheet in the shape of a shield and painted it turquoise, trashed it up with a little fading and airbrush effects and threw some metal leaf lettering on it. After that I cleared the s**t out of it, wet blocked it flat, and polished it.
If you’re reading this Chad, you can come get it anytime. Maybe one of these days I’ll get around to finishing the Green one you brought me. 😎

Among the other projects I have in the works is this 1965 Rupp Go-Kart with a fiberglass body based on the 1965 Chevrolet Monza SS Show Car. These Karts were manufactured between 1960 and 1970 in Mansfield, Ohio.
The Karts and bodies were originally designed with kids in mind, but have become popular with adults, especially Shriners to be driven in parades.
Adults have a hard time fitting into them comfortably, so this project requires me to move the steering wheel forward three and a half inches and cut the body’s driver’s opening and re-glass it correspondingly. 😎

Wet sanded and buffed the rear fender of the Blower Bike and bolted it on only to find out the LED board in the taillight took a s**t. I had drilled holes through the back to enable me to push the lens out for this very reason.
I did this 20 years ago and thought there was just the center hole. Pushing too hard in the center resulted in breaking the lens. I was surprised to find out the lens is actually made from a piece fluorescent light fixture diffuser with the back side painted HOK Brandywine. It’s held in place by thin strips of windshield butyl.
Now to find a similar replacement board since this one is discontinued. 😎

I’ve been busy for the last two months getting the Gold Bike ready for the road again after sitting 4 years with a blown up engine and a scrapped Magnacharger.
I’ve had to repair and repaint areas of the frame, swingarm, and front end, as well as repair damage to both fenders requiring their reclearing and rubbing.
I’ve installed new chrome Platinum Air Suspension shocks to replace the leaky Tricky Air units and upgraded the electrical system to a Noco lithium-ion battery and had Josh Beasley polish the heads and cylinders of John Sally’s donor engine that took care of our Magnacharger search problem.
The engine’s lower end is in the frame and I’m just playing the waiting game for the custom made JE dished blower pistons and rechromed exhaust to show up. We’re planning on taking it to Sturgis in August.

While searching for the original video of me riding the Blower Bike my son Deven came across this short unused clip of me riding the black wide-tired Bad Boy.
