Built a roll pan for this 1951 Will's Overland Wagon. This one is quite unique as it has barn doors instead of a tailgate and lift glass. Going to have a hidden hitch, and fabricating up new bumper ends brackets. The 2nd and 3rd pictures are another shop's attempt at just a roll pan. They just tacked the bottom of the pan to the quarter panels. The welds failed and cracked the stock sheetmetal off and the upper lip is a breeding ground for rust since the left the fl**ge open to allow dirt and water to go between the two panels. I cut the hole for the hitch receiver for mock up and the bumper bracket holes are going to be moved outwards several inches so they bolt to the outside if the frame rails behind this.
Going to be 4-linked with 9000 series sleeve bags thanks to Max Fish from Bio Kustomz coming and giving me a few ideas on the suspension settings since the previous shop installed leaf springs with 6 leafs that are flat all the way with the rear hangers maxed out so there is no real suspension in the rear. So far on this build we have built the steering column with roller bearings and seals at both ends, Built the 383 stroker engine, moved the steering column since it was sideways from the previous shop. Swapped in a Turbo 400 trans and redid all the sheetmetal on the firewall and transmission tunnels, and built the rear bolt in trans mount bracket cuz it had a T-5 in it before.
We are going to be repairing the wire harness as it runs down the frame rails and is exposed with only clamps holding the unshielded wire in such harsh elements.
Keep checking back as I upload more photos. I just hate spending the time taking them and uploading them along with a photo description. But since the owner thinks it is easier for him to check FB than to send him just the photos and descriptions directly to just him so here some are.
