Bye bye solvent pop

08/12/2026

Pretty disappointing to see the level of quality control on some brand new vehicles these days.

This 2026 Lexus GX550 came in with solvent pop straight from the factory. Fortunately, it's isolated to this section of the bumper and shallow enough to be safely corrected through sanding.

I've always remembered the saying, "NEW = Never Ever Worked." While it's meant as a joke, there's often some truth behind it.

Just because a vehicle is brand new doesn't mean it's flawless. Factory paint defects, contamination, and imperfections are more common than many people realize. Before accepting delivery or if you've recently purchased a new vehicle, take the time to inspect it closely.

Your next investment deserves a careful inspection, whether it's fresh off the showroom floor or not.

Stop choosing a detailer based on price alone. It could end up costing you more in the long run.

A lower price doesn't always mean a better value. You're paying for experience, professional equipment, quality products, and the knowledge to get the job done right.

Take paint correction, for example, —lighting is everything. Without proper lighting, defects can be missed, meaning the paint is essentially being corrected blindly, as shown in the video.

Do your research, ask questions, and choose a detailer based on quality—not just price. Your vehicle is an investment, and it deserves the right care.
