What's that little check engine light really mean? Your car has a main computer that's constantly listening to dozens of sensors all over your engine and exhaust system.

When one of those sensors reports a problem—say, the oxygen sensor notices the air-and-fuel mixture isn't quite right—the computer turns on that light. It’s your car’s way of saying, "Hey, could you have a professional take a look under the hood for me?" 🧐
