So it looks like we’re going to get our first named tropical storm of the season, with Tropical Storm Arthur expected to form in the Gulf within the next 24 hours. This will be a good rain event.

This is NOT a call for concern or outrage like we’ve seen in the past, so everyone leave the toilet paper alone on this one! 😄

What I do want to share is some important information about your vehicle and floodwaters:

🚗 If your vehicle becomes involved in floodwaters:

✅ Do NOT attempt to drive through flooded roads. It only takes a small amount of moving water to sweep a vehicle away.

✅ If water is rising around your vehicle, get out immediately and move to higher ground if it is safe to do so.

✅ Do NOT try to restart a vehicle that has been submerged or had water enter the engine compartment. Starting it can cause severe engine damage.

✅ Document everything. Take photos and videos of the vehicle and surrounding conditions as soon as it is safe.

✅ 📞 Contact Turnbull’s Towing immediately so we can safely retrieve your vehicle and help guide you through the insurance process. We have trained professionals and trusted body shop partners on standby to assist during and after severe weather events.

✅ Have your vehicle inspected by a trained mechanic. Safe Auto Repair in Baytown, Mont Belvieu, and La Porte is always available to help, even if your vehicle appears to run normally.

🌧️ Rainy Weather Driving Tips 🌧️

With wet roads and reduced visibility, please take a little extra time and drive safely:

✅ Slow down and increase following distance
✅ Turn your headlights on
✅ Avoid sudden braking or sharp turns
✅ Watch for standing water and flooded roads
✅ Make sure your tires and wipers are in good condition
✅ Put the phone down and stay focused on the road
✅ If you can’t see, pull over somewhere safe until conditions improve
