WHAT WILL YOU NEED TO GET YOUR CAR?? IF YOUR VEHICLE WAS TOWED FOR NO INSURANCE:
You will have to call the Department of Motor Vehicles: 225-925-6146
Provide them with Proof of Insurance
Request an Authorization of Release to be sent to Roadrunner. IF YOUR VEHICLE HAS A STATE or CITY POLICE HOLD:
You will have to contact them to have the hold lifted
Get them to fax us a release form stating the hold has been removed from your vehicle. Not taking care of this will result in you not being able to retrieve your car from impound until this matter is taken care of. ALL YOU NEED is a picture ID of some form, proof of ownership of said vehicle, and a form of payment. If the vehicle is not registered in your name, you will need a note from the owner and a photo copy of their Drivers License. Without this you will not be able to have the hold removed. Now if none of the above pertains to you, ALL YOU NEED IS A PICTURE ID of some form, PROOF OF OWNERSHIP OF SAID VEHICLE, along with a form of payment. Cash, Credit Card, etc.

A huge THANK YOU to everyone who came out and participated in Roadrunner’s Public Sale today! We truly appreciate the incredible turnout and the support from our community.

WHAT HAPPENS NEXT?

Our team is now going through the many sealed bids we received and determining the highest qualified bidder for each vehicle.

Please be patient with our staff as this is Labor Day Weekend.

📞 Winning bidders will be contacted by phone and/or email.
💵 Payment is due in full by cash or certified funds.
🚗 We will release purchased vehicles as soon as possible; however, please allow 1–3 business days when necessary for paperwork.
📄 Buyers will receive the documentation needed to apply for title and registration through the Louisiana OMV.

Please keep an eye on your phone and email while our team works through the bids. We appreciate your patience while we make sure everything is processed correctly.

Louisiana’s Act 234, effective August 1, expands our state’s Slow Down / Move Over protections to help make our roads safer for everyone — first responders, tow operators, roadside workers and motorists experiencing an emergency.

The danger is very real. Louisiana has lost lives in crashes involving vehicles and workers stopped along our highways, including a tow operator killed while assisting a disabled motorist on I-49 in 2024.

When you see a vehicle stopped with emergency, hazard or warning lights, please slow down, stay alert and move over when safely possible.

A few extra seconds will save a life.
