LADA's Q2 Auto Outlook is now available!

Louisiana's new vehicle market is outperforming the nation. New retail light vehicle registrations fell just 1.1% through the first six months of 2026, compared to a 6% drop nationally. Q2 registrations were up 1% versus Q2 2025, an improvement over the 3.4% decline in Q1. Auto Outlook forecasts Q3 results roughly even with last year, with a possible increase in Q4, and annual registrations expected to top 171,000.

Trucks and large SUVs remain the state's strength. GMC, Nissan, Ford, Kia, and Chevrolet all outperform their national market share in the state. Hybrid registrations climbed 8% to a 9.5% share, while BEVs ticked back up to 2.2% in Q2
