Sorry for the delay on the Race #2 Recap, but we did have a great day of racing for Race 2! We had first time winners in the Sportsman Class and the Junior Class! The weather and track conditions were perfect.

Points are updated below! Big Thanks to our volunteers, Team Novak, Team Slagter, Team Gabriel and Will!!

We are racing this Saturday, 6/13/26 at ELKT! We have 5 races left of our best 5 of 7 race championship, so you still have time to dust off your kart and make a championship run!

See you on Saturday for Race #3! Practice starts at 10am, Races starting at noon!

It is time for WMKC race number 2 and the weather should be perfect this weekend!

Join us Saturday (5/30/26) at East Lansing Kart Track!

Remember- Gates open at 10:00am. Get your wristbands at the ELKT Concession Building, THEN come to the WMKC Table for Pre-Race Safety Tech and to Register for the day’s races!

Race Registration goes from 10am to 11am at the WMKC Table. If you register after 11am for the races you will be starting the Heat Races at the back of the pack! (We need time to get the starting grid set and late registrations put us behind in our paperwork)

Open Practice starts at 10:00am. Drivers Meeting at 11:40am, Races Start at 12:00 Noon!

We had a great opening race for the 2026 West Michigan Kart Club Season this past weekend. We had a wet track for heat race #1, a drying track for heat race #2 and a perfect track for the Feature Races. Our drivers did great in the challenging conditions!

Congratulations to our Heat Race Winners and Feature Race Winners!

A huge thanks to our volunteers on Saturday: Team Slagter, Team Gabriel, Team Novak and Team DeCoster. We can't race without our volunteers!

East Lansing Kart track is a great place to race, thanks Kevin, Sandy and Will for giving us a great facility.

Our club does still offer the Senior Briggs L206 class, so dust off that Briggs L206 Kart and come join the fun! We race again on Saturday 5/30/26. I hope to see a packed grid of karts!

It’s almost time!! WMKC Kart Racing This Saturday at East Lansing Kart Track! Join us Saturday (5/16/26) at East Lansing Kart Track for the Opening Round of the 2026 West Michigan Kart Club Season!

We are hoping some people will help us with working corners and possibly scoring some races this weekend and this year. We will be awarding 1 bonus championship point per day for teams who are able to volunteer some time to help us put on the race. We will have a signup sheet at the WMKC registration table, I will be available to answer any questions regarding corner working or scoring.
If you have any last minute questions, don’t hesitate to leave a message!

2026 WMKC Schedule!

Once again we have a 7 race championship planned at East Lansing Kart Track! The format will be very similar to last year, except we fully intend to run the Junior Class (aged 12-15) as their own run group. This will mean 4 different classes and 4 different run groups, eliminating the need for multiple classes per run group. The new season is right around the corner! Message WMKC if you have any questions, have an idea to improve our club or if you have a request for a change. You will see our Rain Date make up is scheduled for October 3, 2026. Is there interest in converting this date to a possible 8th race for our championship?

Hello WMKC Racers, Teams and Fans. Are you looking for a way to stay sharp this winter? Or, if you are interested in Kart Racing but haven't yet taken the leap, check out GR GP! They have a Monday Night racing league with a couple spots left and they have drop in racing.

GR GP is normally for drivers aged 15 years and up, but I have been told if you are an experienced WMKC Kart Racer or East Lansing Kart Track racer who is at least 13 years old, you will be considered for driving eligibility. Contact them first if you are 13 or 14 with WMKC racing experience.

And remember, this is the best way to try kart racing before you buy all the needed equipment to race in our club.

The 2025 West Michigan Kart Club season has come to a close. We had a great year with lots of close racing, lots of learning and lots of smiles. Our Final 2025 race weekend was fantastic, we had some brand new racers with us, we had some first time podium finishers and we even had a first time race winner in the Junior Class! Season Champions were crowned and final championship standings were decided.

I really enjoyed our club this year, the racers and teams are some of the best I have spent time with. I hope to see everyone back in 2026!

Big thanks to our volunteers for helping to put on the great 2025 race season! Big Thanks to Kevin Haun and the East Lansing Kart Track team for providing a wonderful place to race!

The 2025 Final WMKC race is this Saturday 9/20/25 at East Lansing Kart Track! It's been a great season so far and I am excited for one more round of kart races before getting the pumpkin spice out.

We will be giving out the End of Year Trophies directly following the races! If you raced at least 4 races with WMKC in 2025 then we will have a trophy for you. Lets crown some new champions!

Also, ELKT is having a pot luck on Saturday after the track is cold at 5pm. There is a signup sheet at East Lansing Kart Track's page. Lets make a party of our last race!

We had a great day of kart racing on Saturday at the East Lansing Kart Track S Track! I think you guys prefer fall racing because we had our 2nd best kart turnout of the summer.

The S Track was a fun challenge, we had some new faces up front in the heat races and we even had a first time feature race winner in the Junior Class!

The WMKC Finale Race is 9/20/25. The last race is always fun because we give out our end of year trophies. I also understand there is a cookout, pot luck style party being planned at the end of the practice day on Saturday.

Big thanks to our volunteer workers for race #6; Team Brandel, Team Edwards and Team Slagter! We cannot race without our volunteers, thank you!!

Next week I will post the Round 6 racing pictures when I send out the reminder for our 9/20/25 race.
