RPR Driving School located in Barre, VT is looking for a CDL Class A Driver Instructor. This is a school like no other in that the student’s tuition is paid for, students are paid by the hour to be in our class, and they have an OTR job lined up (with Bellavance Trucking) when they graduate. The instructor must be patient, able to work with all levels of staff, have excellent presenting and interpersonal skills, be reliable, computer literate and able to stay current with FMCSA laws & regulations.

Key responsibilities include:

Lead/prepare classroom, range, and road CDL Class A training.
Monitor student progress and hold students accountable.
Track and report range and classroom hours.
Ability to present confidently to the students and to stay on course.
Knowledgeable of pre & post trip inspection, map reading, trip planning, and DOT laws.
Schedule the Class A exam and orchestrate/facilitate truck assignments and assign driver mentors.
Encourage the students and the ability to explain a process several different ways as everyone learns differently.
Become certified to administer the CDL random drug testing.
Ability to work inside and outside and sometimes in extreme hot or cold temperatures.
Considerable knowledge of equipment
Education and Experience:

A high school diploma or GED
DMV Driver Training Instructor License with Endorsements A/B or willing to obtain
1-2 years of CDL A Driving (preferred)
Location & Hours:

Barre, VT
7:30 – 4:30 and at times additional hours

Salary:
Based on experience
