YOU CHOOSE WHERE YOUR VEHICLE IS REPAIRED — NOT YOUR INSURANCE COMPANY.
One of the biggest misconceptions we hear at Eric Hayden Collision is:
“My insurance company told me I have to take my vehicle to their shop.”
That is NOT how it works in Kentucky.
Under Kentucky law, YOU have the right to choose the repair facility that repairs your vehicle. Your insurance company may recommend a repair facility, but the choice belongs to YOU — the vehicle owner.
And yes, this includes Direct Repair/Preferred Shops.
Being a Direct Repair shop does NOT mean an insurance company gets to choose where you take your vehicle. It simply means that shop has an agreement with one or more insurance companies.
🛑 YOU HAVE A CHOICE.
Your insurance company handles your coverage and claim.
YOU choose who repairs your vehicle.
