With the week of announcements coming up for the Top 12 award winners for the 12 categories I wanted to show what lead our car that is in contention for “Custom Rod of the year” with Goodguys Rod & Custom. In a world of laundry list kinda builds and who can do more stuff to their car and who can polish more surfaces or add more stuff we wanted to build a car that maybe just as custom as the laundry list guys, but also when it was done most people just thought the end result was cool. And not overdone.
Yes we machined a ton of stuff.
- bumper guards
- seat trim
- everything on door panels
- 3D printed the dash pad
- machined cluster, glove box and Ac center stack so that they all matched.
- we design and AC controller to look vintage and tell a story.
- Yes we machined the one off wheels to look vintage “right”.
- exterior side trim. So it looks as proper as it does.
- I’m sure there are a 1000 other custom pieces just like everyone else cars.
But which when you look at the car is it a laundry list of the most custom parts and mods that didn’t make you think the car just looked right.
We hope you can see the stance we achieved with the Roadster Shop chassis, The AC system we incorporated with Vintage Air and Dakota Digital. The fact the car has custom rear view mirrors from Intek OTTO so we can drive the car. We didn’t just delete parts to make it custom, we worked it into the design.
I these pictures help everyone understand the level of detail we put into what appears to be a stock car. That just sits right, looks right and drives right. And would be the 1957 Ranch Wagon everyone wishes they had.
