ANRA Fall Nationals Delivers a Full Slate of Winners at Famoso Dragstrip
The ANRA Fall Nationals brought another weekend of hard-fought drag racing to Famoso Dragstrip, with racers battling through a deep lineup of categories before champions were crowned across the program.
In A/Gas, Bakersfield racers went head-to-head for the title as Keith Molovich defeated Kamaka Pocock in the final round. Pocock had entered eliminations as the No. 1 qualifier, but Molovich came through when it counted to claim the Fall Nationals victory.
The Bakersfield area was also represented in the D/Gas final, where Jerimie Jennings of Bakersfield defeated Shilo Edwards of Atwater for the championship.
Randy Armstrong of Paso Robles took the B/Gas title over Greg Griffith of Lemoore, while Billy Teague of Sanger scored the C/Gas victory over Gary Lynch of Sylmar. In E/Gas, Ronnie Prewett of Bloomington earned the win over Jim Hulse of Porterville.
The Nostalgia Eliminator categories added plenty to the weekend, with Vince Generalao Jr. of Las Vegas winning Nostalgia Eliminator 1 over Dave Isley of Ontario. Robert Johnson of Visalia captured Nostalgia Eliminator 2 over Robert “Duke” Baker of Thornton, while Josh Kolb of Glendora defeated Darren Beck of Bakersfield for the Nostalgia Eliminator 3 championship.
In Sportsman competition, Brad Thompson of Visalia came away with the victory over Sam Landsverk of Simi Valley. Jeff Ball of Phelan claimed the Open Wheel title over Randy Winkle of McFarland.
The Agnew family had plenty to celebrate at the Fall Nationals, scoring a father-and-son double victory. Michael Agnew of Oak Hills captured the Hot Rod championship over Frank Chimenti, while his son, Levi Agnew, followed with a victory of his own, taking the Junior Comp title over Kassidy Bowman. Two classes, two wins and one big weekend for the Agnew family.
The Junior Dragsters continued with Audrey Frye of Taft capturing Junior Group 1 over Bakersfield's Mollie Norris, while Easton Oliveira of Cypress defeated Trevor Kirby of Anaheim for the Junior Group 2 title.
Caden Casner of Miraloma earned the Junior Group 3 championship over Alex Rees of Newark, and Bakersfield's Brody Conner closed out the Junior categories with the Junior Group 4 victory over Isabella Lily Pires of Madera.
From the Nostalgia Eliminators and Gas classes to Sportsman, Open Wheel, Hot Rod and the next generation of racers in the Junior Dragsters, the ANRA Fall Nationals put a full weekend of competition on the Famoso Dragstrip starting line and sent another group of champions home with Fall Nationals titles.
