🌲🔥 Fire Restrictions Update: Effective July 24th at 12:01 a.m., Stage 1 Fire Restrictions will be in effect for La Plata County.

Recent rainfall has improved conditions in parts of the region, allowing restrictions to ease from Stage 2. However, rainfall has been uneven, with some areas receiving significantly less moisture than others. Wildfire risk remains, and it’s important that we continue to use caution.

In addition, the National and Colorado Division of Fire Prevention and Control (DFPC) Preparedness Levels remain at Level 5, the highest level. This reflects ongoing wildfire activity, weather conditions, fuel conditions, and the availability of firefighting resources across the country.

Please continue to follow Stage 1 Fire Restrictions and use extra care with any activities that could spark a fire. Together, we can help reduce the risk of human-caused wildfires. ❤️🚒

⚠️ These restrictions apply within La Plata County. If you’re traveling to National Forests, BLM lands, Tribal lands, or other jurisdictions, be sure to check the fire restrictions before heading out.

the BEST 😍

🥰 Some mornings, coffee is just caffeine.

At camp, it becomes a whole experience: cold air on your face, smoke drifting from the fire, a sleepy dog nearby, and the forest slowly coming alive around you. ☕🔥

Nothing urgent. Nothing loud. Just a reminder that peace is often found in the moments we usually rush through.
