Quantum Paint QUANTUM was developed over a decade ago and is the most advanced marine finish system on the market.

Quantum Paint began over 10 years ago when University of South Carolina grads were cleaning up a secondhand 17-foot day boat. The paint on the boat was peeling, dirty, and chalky, and the craft needed some serious TLC to get back in the water. The duo wasn’t satisfied with their available paint options, and Martin, already familiar with current aerospace coatings, started tinkering in his garage to combine the aerospace technology with marine paint. The finished product —now EMC2’s signature Quantum technology—inspired Boswell to launch a company to meet the need for better marine coatings. They started EMC2 while both working other full-time jobs, and sunk $1,500 and a whole lot of nights, weekends, and lunch breaks into getting it off the ground. After graduating from Charleston, S.C.’s Harbor Accelerator Program, they teamed up with industry vet Steve Schultz to produce and distribute the Quantum Paint product line.

Pro finish by Carlos of MPH Marine. 🔥

Seafoam Quantum99, so glossy you can see the dirt( or lack thereof) in Carlos's shop in the reflection of the boat.

You don't need to be a pro to get results like this. Most of a pro-looking paint job comes down to good prep and a paint that flows out on its own. Roll it in your garage and you can still get a finish that rivals a spray job.

Twice the solids = half the paint. 10+ years of color.

Shouts out to our guy Kevin Hi Gloss Boat Restoration for another beautiful job done with Quantum99. If you ask kevin the worst part about our paint is that sometimes it has problems arriving due to UPS.
If you want paint that is easily polishable and buffable Quantum99 is the only choice

Get your Yamaha blue cowling done in an afternoon. No mess, No fuss.

This outboard cowling was refinished start to finish with our Quantum99 aerosol line. Two coats of Yamaha Metallic Blue, roughly 45 minutes apart, then once it passed the no-transfer touch test at about the 45-minute mark, we topped it with one of our 2K aerosol clear coats for that deep, mirror-like gloss.

That's the whole idea behind our aerosol system, the same durable, high-gloss polyurethane finish our topside paints are known for, in a can. No gun to clean, no compressor to haul out, no equipment of your own needed. Just prep, shake, and spray. Whether it's a cowling, a small panel repair, or a full DIY refinish, you get professional results without the professional setup.

Ready to try it on your next project? Quantum99 aerosols are available now at quantumpaint.com.

Imagine doing a whole 60 ft boat in just 10.5 gallons of paint total. 🤯

The breakdown went like this:
1 Gallon of Strontium Chromate and Activator to stop corrosion and rust
5 Gallons of Epoxy Primer with our high build activator to act as barrier coat and build surface profile.
2.5 Gallons of PCDC Orange and Spray activator for distinctive safety orange look
1 Gallon Snow White and Spray activator for the Pilot House.

Quantum Paint's massive 52% volume solids puts more paint on the hull and less waste in the can. By correcting the original order to what was actually needed, we saved the customer $2,392.75 in material costs — a 54% reduction.

Not only did we save them money upfront we saved them something even more important: TIME

⏱️ 4 weeks down to 3 days

The savings didn't stop at the paint. We met with the project manager, reviewed the facility, and built a customized setup and timeline.

Traditional process: 2-4 weeks
Quantum Paint process: 3 days

The result: an ultra-durable, high-gloss finish, plus a lighter, faster, more fuel-efficient hull , back in service weeks ahead of schedule.

Stop paying for wasted paint and unnecessary shipyard downtime. Head to quantumpaint.com or DM us for a precise, high-efficiency quote on your next project.

How much paint would you order for this 60 ft boat? A client originally ordered 27 total gallons for a full coat on a 60’ Aluminum Pilot Boat:

16 gal Primer

6 gal Orange

5 gal White

We love a big sale, but we love efficiency more. Thanks to Quantum Paint’s high 52% volume solids, we called them up and said, “Hold on y'all, that’s way too much paint!”

How many total gallons do y'all think we ended up using to get this flawless finish?

Some things are worth doing right.

This antique three-tier fountain had years of rust eating into its cast iron detail — not the kind of piece you repaint with anything off the shelf.

That's where Quantum Paint came in. Our premium marine-grade coatings protect what's valuable against Charleston's heat, humidity, and salt air, so it looks great for years, not months. From bare metal, to primer, to a rich Charleston green final coat, this fountain got the same protection we give hulls and outdoor fixtures up and down the coast.

Huge thanks to E&E Painting for the outstanding application work. Need expert hands for your next project?
