On this day in automotive history, August Horch founded the company that would become Audi. After leaving his earlier Horch automobile company, he created a new firm in Zwickau, Germany. On July 12, 1933, the first Dymaxion car (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dymaxion_car), designed by Buckminster Fuller, was produced in Bridgeport, Connecticut.

It was strange, futuristic, three-wheeled, aerodynamic, and wildly ambitious. The Dymaxion looked less like a conventional car and more like someone tried to build tomorrow using sheet aluminum, imagination, and a Ford V8.
