ATTENTION! ALL owners of Audi A4, Q5 AWD, VW CC, Tiguan, Passat, and GTI, TAKE NOTICE!!
If your vehicle is equipped with the 2.0 liter TSI Turbo engine you could be sitting on a potential problem concerning the timing chain and tensioner.
This is becoming a very common failure. We currently have 3 cars here, all with this same problem.
These are photos of the cylinder head and pistons after the timing chain jumped several teeth on start-up due to the chain stretching and the tensioner being unable to compensate, bending the valves. When this happens the repairs can be $4000+ ! This particular CC had only 80,000 miles on it when failure occured.
We suggest you strike preemptively and replace the timing chain and tensioner before this happens to You.

This '73 Beetle has been sleeping since 1998! We had the privilege of reviving it ... New fuel tank, oil change & engine checkover, front & rear brake hoses, wheel cylinders and shoes and it's back on its feet! Only 98K on the odometer means this car still has spark in its step and smooth going down the road. Just needs to be cleaned up, and maybe a new front BUMPER! LOL
