🚘 ANNOUNCEMENT FROM JOE THE MECHANIC

Big update from me, Josiah —
Many of you know me as the guy who’s been turning wrenches and serving this community for years. Now I’m building something even bigger — something that’s been on my heart for a long time.

I’ve officially filed the paperwork for a nonprofit called
NextGen TechWorks.

The goal? To teach skilled trades like auto repair, welding, HVAC, and electrical work to young people and future generations who learn best by doing.

This nonprofit will focus on hands-on learning and mentorship — especially for youth and young adults who need a solid path forward. My dream is to build something that makes a real impact and helps people gain confidence, skills, and purpose.

🛠️ I also hope to launch a second, separate program in the future focused on reentry support for formerly incarcerated individuals — possibly at a different location. But for now, this first step is all about equipping the next generation with real-world skills and opportunities.

It’s official now, and more steps are coming — but I wanted to share this milestone with the same folks who’ve supported me as “Joe the Mechanic” all these years.

If you believe in trades, hard work, and giving the next generation a leg up — keep an eye out. I’ll be sharing more soon.

Thank you for always having my back.

Big Announcement – Community Support Needed 🙌

As many of you know, it’s been my dream for years to own my own shop—and now I’m combining that dream with something even bigger: helping the next generation gain the skills and confidence to succeed through hands-on trades training.

I’m proud to announce that the program will now be called NextGen TechWorks, and it’s not just about automotive repair anymore. While that will always be the foundation, I also plan to bring in guest instructors to introduce students to welding, HVAC, basic electrical and plumbing, and more.

This is still the beginning phase—I’m just getting it all set up—but I’m 100% committed to making this dream a reality. With the right support and enough community interest, I believe I can get this up and running sooner than later.

I’ll be investing heavily myself, but if anyone out there knows of a property owner who might be willing to donate or sell land at a discounted rate for this cause, I’d be incredibly grateful. It would go a long way toward building a great teaching environment and reaching more students. I’m also actively looking into grants and community partnerships to help expand the project.

✊ And this is just the start. My long-term goal is to also open a stand-alone outreach program to support formerly incarcerated individuals—offering trade training to help them get back on their feet with dignity and real skills. That would be housed on a separate property down the road, but it’s something I believe in deeply and plan to pursue as this grows.

🙏 Please feel free to reach out if you have ideas, interest in helping, or want to follow the journey. Every bit of encouragement helps!

Thanks for believing in this vision—it means more than you know. Let’s build something great together.

– Josiah

🚗 Big News from Joe the Mechanic – I Need Your Feedback! 🛠️

Hi neighbors – it’s Joe the Mechanic (Josiah Burns). I’ve been proudly serving the Dripping Springs community for 15+ years now, and I’ve always believed in giving back when I can.

I’m thinking about starting a nonprofit training program to teach underprivileged teens and young adults hands-on skills in automotive repair, welding, and basic trades. The goal is to give them real-world skills and a path to a career — especially those who might struggle with traditional school like I did growing up with dyslexia.

The program would be called NextGEN Auto Trades, and I’d love to use my experience and shop to train the next generation.

👉 Would you support a program like this?
👉 Do you know a teen or young adult who would benefit?
👉 Would you be interested in volunteering, donating, or helping us get started?

Your feedback means a lot. Please comment below or message me if this idea resonates with you. Even just a 👍 or a “Great idea!” helps me know the community is behind this.

Thanks for supporting small business and bigger dreams,

— Joe the Mechanic

Just a reminder you have to work with your vehicle if you want it to last as long as possible. It’s a give-and-take thing you give your car what it needs and it will take you where you need to go😉!Don’t forget to check your oil when you’re on a flat level ground while filling up with gas is a good time. Keep an eye on the temperature gauge every once in a while to make sure the vehicle doesn’t overheat. If you hear concerning noises they typically only get more expensive or more dangerous. And check your tire pressures. no reason to ruin a perfectly good car and cost yourself more money in the long run just a friendly reminder from Joe the mechanic.

because... why not?!?! Go get yourself a double cheeseburger today for national double cheeseburger day! 🍔

They say we are only as healthy as the exercise we get and the food we eat. So the question becomes, does celebrating count as exercise? It's not like I'm going to eat two of them...at one meal.
