๐ง What is a CV Joint?
CV (Constant Velocity) Joint is a flexible coupling in the drivetrain that allows power to be transferred smoothly from the transmission to the wheels at a constant speed, even when the wheels are turning or the suspension is moving.
๐ Types of CV Joints:
โข Ball-type (Rzeppa Joint): Commonly found on the outer side, allows large angles for steering.
โข Tripod-type Joint: Often used on the inner side, handles in-and-out motion from suspension travel.

โข Transmits torque without frictional loss.
โข Allows steering movement (outer joint).
โข Handles up-and-down suspension movement (inner joint).
๐ง What is a CV Axle?
The CV Axle (Half Shaft) is the complete assembly that connects the transmission/differential to the wheels. It includes the shaft + CV joints (inner & outer).

โข Transfers engine power to the wheels.
โข Ensures smooth wheel rotation during turns and bumps.
โข Provides flexibility for suspension travel.
๐ Symptoms of Bad CV Joint / Axle
1. Clicking or popping noise when turning (outer CV joint failure).
2. Vibration while driving, especially under acceleration.
3. Grease leaks near the wheel or axle boot (torn boot).
4. Knocking noise during acceleration or deceleration.
5. Loss of smooth power delivery to wheels.
