For all of you asking how the truck did on Soup Bowl…here it is!
We had a bum ARB compressor so she had an open front during this trip.
Turns out you don’t need a front locker when you have a wheelbase this long 🤣

Back to the Rubicon!! Going to work on our site on the RTF property!

“Walked it!” 🤣 Who knew, the real cheat code is 160” wheelbase…
Have you gone up this line?

The Rubicon doesn’t care how prepared you think you are.

Partway through the trip, the crawler lost oil pressure and started ticking. What followed was a lot of diagnosing, wrenching, and trying to figure out whether the trip—and possibly the motor—was done.

Here’s the full update on what happened with the oil pump, what we found, and where the truck stands now.

Have you ever had an LS suddenly lose oil pressure?

This High Boy came in for the suspension and axle treatment. We started by doing a coilover conversion with a set of 2.5x12” coilovers with adjusters. We also needed to correct an axle that was previously built in correctly causing the caster to be 2* different from one side to the other. While we were there, we retubed the short side and cut down the long side to make better room for the exhaust and improve the pinion angle. We also installed a set of inner C’s and Kingpin knuckles. Then we stuffed the axle with a set of 300M shafts to top it off and to hold up against the 685HP Performance motor under the hood.
Then out back, we rebuilt the rear Dana 70 and installed a set of 63” springs to make it ride much nicer. .beltjens also put together a custom rear hitch that worked with the current fuel tank that was installed.
This truck is one beautiful piece of machinery!
