Well, the rain finally got us 🙁

While all the competitors decided to split the $5,000 ahead of the rain out, each going home with a nice payout, the final four were set to do battle for the Trophy and the Blackbird Hat.

With the rain forced cancellation, we went with best reaction time of the Round 1 winners. It was tight with the top three separated by 0.001 each … Tony Sheehan had a 0.019, Mike Schaefer had a 0.018 and it was Pete Nitzel with a 0.017 in his beautiful ‘Cuda that took home the Trophy and the Blackbird Hat.

A huge thank you to all 8 competitors who came out on short notice, into a very iffy forecast and made the first running of G3 Hemi Nostalgia Muscle AWESOME!

Another big thanks to the NDRL for allowing us to turn Mike Schaefer’s great idea into a reality … the next time is already under discussion.

Of course, our ability to do this is all about the Band of Hemi Brothers and Sisters coming together and putting in the work… including in the heat and rain at the track starting with our get after it CEO, Jena and even cooler, today Keaton, Breanna and most importantly Endie, in Indy today.

Round 1 of the first G3 Hemi Nostalgia Muscle running at the NDRL Hot Rod Nationals at Indy is in the books!

For the first time out, without a lot of time between the class announcement and running it, just fantastic to see eight great examples of G3 Hemi powered race cars doing battle. And they are all in the money 💵👍but only one gets a trophy and a hat, who will it be ?

Here’s how Round 1 shook out:
