Customer states: “I can’t get my lug nuts off.”
Well… we found out why.

The wrong lug nuts had been forced onto the truck, and they weren’t coming off the normal way.

Sometimes the only option is to bring out the torch.

This is exactly why the correct lug nuts and proper installation matter. Forcing the wrong ones on can turn what should be a simple wheel removal into a much bigger job.

An overheating engine can turn into a much bigger repair if the problem isn’t caught in time.

In this case, overheating caused the cylinder heads to warp. They’re being sent to the machine shop to be resurfaced before everything goes back together.

If your temperature gauge starts climbing or you get an overheating warning, don’t ignore it. Continuing to drive can cause serious engine damage.

Of course my car decides not to start when I need to leave.

The lights came on, but as soon as I turned the key, it made a rapid clicking noise and the dash went dark. Brandon confirmed that the battery was dead and hooked up a jumper box so I could get it started.

Rapid clicking when you turn the key often points to a weak battery or poor battery connection but it’s still important to test the battery and charging system to confirm the cause.

Thankfully, I know a good auto repair shop.

Sometimes you work with what you’ve got. 😂🔧

This diesel EGR cooler is soaking in solvent while the vibration from the bench grinder helps break loose the carbon buildup inside.

Basically, our DIY version of an ultrasonic cleaner and it works surprisingly well.
