The Tasha Fester Memorial Series will always be near and dear to our hearts. We pour our pride, passion, and every bit of heart into keeping Tasha’s legacy alive through this series.

This year, Runestone Area Go Kart Track has decided to pull out of the series, and while the timing wasn’t ideal and we’re disappointed to lose them, we respect their decision.

The good news — we still have SIX incredible race dates lined up, and we’re more committed than ever to making this season meaningful, memorable, and full of the spirit Tasha brought to our community.

The Tasha Fester Memorial Series means so much to us, and each year we pour our hearts into making it a weekend that truly honors Tasha and brings our racing family together. As we prepare for this year’s event, we’re hoping to make it even more special with a Fireworks Show to close out the night.

To make that happen, we’re looking for donations from anyone who feels called to help. No amount is too small — every bit goes directly toward creating a beautiful moment for our racers, families, and fans.

Thank you for helping us keep Tasha’s spirit shining bright.

🇺🇸 All American Shootout Weekend 🇺🇸

Thank you to all of our racers, crews, sponsors, fans, and volunteers who help make these race weekends possible. We appreciate every one of you!

Unfortunately, Mother Nature had other plans and rain won the battle Sunday afternoon. While we weren’t able to complete the program, all makeup features will be held on Saturday, June 13th prior to our annual Tasha Fester Memorial Series.

To accommodate both events, we will start earlier than normal:

🏁 Hot Laps – 1:00 PM
🏁 Makeup Features – Immediately following hot laps
🏁 Tasha Fester Memorial Series heats will begin after the makeup features are completed.

Payout details for the Tasha Fester Memorial Series will be posted later this week, so stay tuned!

We look forward to seeing everyone back at for a full day of racing as we honor Tasha’s memory and continue an exciting 2026 season. 💙💜

BP Pro Modified Eligibility Rule Update – Effective Immediately

Attention racers and families:

There has been a rule change regarding BP Pro Modified eligibility.

If a driver is under the required age limit to compete in BP Pro Modified, they must meet ONE of the following requirements:

✅ Have 5 confirmed A-Feature BP wins listed on MyRacePass (MRP) at one or more of the following tracks:

* Atwater Karting Speedway
* Cedar Lake
* Rice Lake
* Thunderhill
* Lightning Speedway
* Black River Motorsports
* Brookings
* Blue Earth
* English Creek
* Any other track approved by the AKS Board

OR

✅ Compete at 30 pounds or more overweight in the BP class, with no lead or additional weight added to the kart.

This rule is effective immediately and will be enforced for all future events.

Any questions regarding eligibility should be directed to the AKS Board.

What an exciting weekend at Atwater Karting Speedway! 🏁🔥

This weekend we had the honor of hosting our second special series of the year — the AJC Mid America Series — and what a weekend it was! The pits were packed, the stands were full, and the racing action all weekend long was absolutely incredible.

A huge thank you goes out to Adam Johnson and his entire crew for making the trip to Atwater and choosing to host their event with us. We appreciate all the hard work and dedication that goes into putting together a traveling series like this, and we were proud to be part of it.

Thank you to every racer, crew member, sponsor, fan, and volunteer that helped make this event such a success. None of this happens without the support of an amazing racing community. From the track crew putting in long hours behind the scenes to the families traveling miles to race with us — we appreciate every single one of you.

The level of competition this weekend was unreal and the fans were treated to some phenomenal racing in every class. Weekends like this remind us exactly why we love this sport and why we continue working hard to grow kart racing in our area.

Next up: the All American Showdown double header THIS weekend! 👀🏁

Thank you all who made it out to Race #1 at Atwater Karting Speedway. We can’t win for losing on weather, the whole staff did everything they could to get this race in. Sure there would have been some changes to the schedule if rain was expected, but there was 0 risk of weather til there was. We applaud the track crew for putting in maximum effort to make it happen.

The racing was phenomenal, put on a heck of a show in every class.

Congratulations to the winners, we never like to pay off qualifying in any scenario but the ones that got to the top deserve it. Thank you all that attended and can’t wait to see everyone June 19-20th at University Plains Speedway in Brookings SD for race #2.

What an incredible weekend hosting the Maxxis Midwest Series at Atwater Karting Speedway! 🏁🔥

Thank you to everyone who came out — the racers, fans, families, and the entire Maxxis Midwest crew. We are truly honored to be able to host this amazing series at our track. The level of competition all weekend was incredible, and seeing so many people supporting grassroots karting means a lot to all of us.

A huge thank you as well to all of our board members, volunteers, track crew, concession workers, sponsors, and everyone behind the scenes who helped make the weekend happen. Events like this take a lot of teamwork, and we appreciate every single person who played a part.

And we’re not done yet… 👀🔥

Thank you to Atwater Karting Speedway for hosting the first Maxxis Midwest Series race of 2026! The track surface was excellent, and all the hard work put into the facility truly showed on race day. Special thanks to Jake for the track prep — it was outstanding, and we appreciate every effort that went into making the weekend a success. We also want to give a special thank you to Amanda Kramer for all the work she did behind the scenes preparing for the weekend; her effort and organization help make the entire day run smoothly.

A huge thank you as well to all the drivers and teams who participated in Round One. Your support of the series is incredibly encouraging, and we appreciate every kind word and personal thank you shared with us throughout the weekend.

We also want to recognize the outstanding team of officials who do an exceptional job every race weekend. Without their dedication, and hard work, none of this would be possible.

We hope to see everyone again on June 12–13 for Round 2 of the series at Newton Kart Klub in Newton, Iowa!
