🔧 The carb was never the problem.

Picked up a 2023 Rieju MR 300 Six Days with a bog on top. Every circuit in the carb had already been leaned out chasing it, so I figured I'd start there.

Rejetted for Montana altitude (162 main, NECJ needle, 38 pilot), plug chop came back tan, and the bog was still there. Power valve, fuel flow, map switch... all fine.

Then I pulled the silencer. Years of carbon had turned the inside into a brick. Cleaned it out and the bike rips now.

Every jet, clip position, and air screw turn is logged in .app. Next time I'm at 9,000 ft wondering what's in the bike, I don't have to pull the bowl to find out. 🤙

Pit row at the Billings Motorcycle Club races this weekend 🏁

This was a weird one. Typically these seals get destroyed from overheating or time. So anytime you overheat your 2 stroke I recommend checking the crankcase seals. If you are on an old KX that basically means you have to rebuild the entire bottom end.... sorry.
