New - Oklahoma Nonresident Hunters Must Obtain Deer Licenses in Advance

Deer & Bear Archery Season opens Thursday, October 1!

If you’re a NONRESIDENT hunter, don’t wait until opening day to buy your deer license. Once the season opens, licenses purchased after that point will have a 2-day validation period before they become active.

So unless you want to spend opening morning admiring everyone else’s deer… get that license ahead of time.

And don’t forget about The Dam Store’s Deer Weigh-In Contest! Bring your buck or bear by, let us get a weight, and get entered in the contest.

🦌NEW LAW for nonresident deer hunters🦌

Starting Oct. 1, nonresident deer hunters must purchase their license TWO DAYS before they hunt.

For example: if a nonresident buys a deer license on Oct. 1, it is not valid until Oct. 3.Nonresident deer licenses bought up to the day before the start of the corresponding season do not have a two-day waiting period

The Atoka County Burn Ban has been extended until September 22nd, it will be reevaluated at that time. Pray for rain! The only flames allowed on our property are gas or charcoal grills, please be sure grills are fully extinguished when not in use.

The heat don’t stop the crappie from biting! We have plenty of cabin availability through the weekdays and weekends in August. Bring the family or fishing partner, catch some fish, and take a break from cooking while you eat your meals at The Dam Store at McGee Creek across the road.
