There are many differences, but one sad similarity is the fact that there were nay-sayers who did not want to recognize the accomplishments of both drivers when they were declared winners. Last week my company, Hodges & Sons, LLC. took a group of high school, middle, and elementary students to Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta to show them how their STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts, and math) curriculum can lead to long term careers in the sportscar racing world. Our students had meetings with individuals in the marketing and sponsorship, engineering, art (racing livery), public relations, and apparel fields, and, of course we threw some drivers in there. We’ve been hosting these trips for a few years, and we look forward to sharing our passion for our beloved sport with more students more often. This year marks 10 years for H&S and we are, and will forever be, committed to “Building Bridges One Race at a Time!”
