Ever heard an engine make a noise like this? 🤔

This 2017 Audi A6 3.0T came into the shop with a pretty nasty squeal once it warmed up.

Rather than just throwing parts at it, we walked through the symptoms, did a little testing, and followed the clues to find the actual cause.

Here's a look at the diagnostic process, what we found, and the final repair.

Sometimes the smallest failure can make one heck of a noise. 😂

We thought we'd give everyone a quick look around the shop and introduce what we do here at GAS.

We're going to start sharing more of the interesting repairs, diagnostics, and projects that come through the shop — including some of the oddball problems that make us scratch our heads from time to time. 😂

What's on the rack today? Clean 2017 Audi A6 3.0t Supercharged S-Line. I think we'll do a video on this on too, came in with a really odd squeal in the engine bay, the squeal would only show up at full engine temp and only at an idle, after the engine is switched off the squeal remains present for a couple seconds then stops. I'll save the rest for a video. I do want to give a shout out to the dealer Maverick Car Company out of Boise Idaho, this car was purchased (in perfect running order) and the squeal showed up about 24hrs after the customer bought it. The dealer stepped up and help the customer with the cost of repair.

What's on the rack today? We have a 2018 Honda Odyssey that had a bit of ao a run in with a deer not far from us. Mostly superficial damage to the right side headlight and brackets, took the radiator out and readjusted the a/c condenser. It's currently in process with all OEM Honda parts going back in it. That's our little sunflower Bob growing in the front lot...:)
