Good Morning & Happy Monday!
We wanted to give everyone an update on our wheels because we truly believe in being completely transparent with our dealers and customers.
Before acquiring the company last November, we were proud GTR Wheel dealers because we believed the quality and aesthetics were excellent. That said, both Michael and I felt there were a couple of areas where we could make an already great wheel even better, so we got to work.
The first improvement was changing the finish from powder coating to anodizing. That was a fairly straightforward change, and after receiving and testing the samples, we were extremely pleased with the results. That change has now been finalized.
The second improvement and the one that has taken considerably more time was redesigning the bead seat, where the tire sits on the wheel. While discussing options with the factory, they sent us an initial design that wasn’t what we were looking for. The second design was closer, but we still weren’t completely satisfied. We had a few sets produced and shipped to us for testing, and unfortunately, they didn’t meet our standards.
Rather than settling, we went back to the drawing board.
Since then, we’ve developed an entirely new design that we’re very excited about. Those wheels should be arriving any day now for another round of testing. We have very high expectations, and if everything performs as planned, we expect to move into production within the next week or so.
If all goes according to plan, we anticipate having wheels in stock sometime in September.
While we know this isn’t the update everyone was hoping for, we want you to know that we’re 100% committed to bringing the best product possible back to the market. We’d rather take a little extra time now than release a product that doesn’t meet our expectations, or yours.
We’re working hard behind the scenes every day, and we can’t wait to get these wheels into each and every one of your hands and onto your karts.
