Oh man we try very hard to solve the problems our customers have when upgrading their seats. But sometimes we are contacted by folks as a last resort, and thats ok too. In this particular case Shann purchased a used Tacoma that has Corbeau seats and mounts but everything else was removed and I mean EVERYTHING. This left him with a truck with a xmas tree number of lights on the dash.

We worked with him to source what he needed and solve the dash light issue. The only bummer is he was left with no choice but do to a work around that we absolutely do not recommend. But we helped him along and got his truck to a point where he felt much better driving in it.

Our stance hasn't changed. A clamped array can't tell an adult from a child or an empty seat, so the passenger airbag will deploy at full force no matter who/what is sitting there. When the OEM or aftermarket seat is available, the right answer is a mount that keeps the load cells working as Toyota....

A 2001 JDM 100 Series Land Cruiser, RHD, camper package, and a customer who trusted us enough to pull his entire seat harnesses and ship it to us so we could get this right.

Sending your seat wiring across the country means trusting someone else to actually solve the problem, not just take a guess and hope it works when it lands back in your truck, and we thank him for that trust.

The factory heater switch and scheel-mann's heating elements don't speak the same language electrically. Toyota's switch expects a specially tapped pad. scheel-mann's pads are a plain two-wire circuit. Wire them together directly and Hi and Lo collapse into one setting, no matter what the switch says.

So we built a bridge. A small custom harness that plugs straight into the factory connector, no cuts to the OEM wiring, that lets the original Hi/Off/Lo switch do exactly what it always did, just now driving the new seats instead of the old ones.

The trust went both directions on this build. Using documentation we'd already put together, the customer handled removing his own occupant classification pressure pad and relocating it into the new seat himself, a safety-relevant part of this swap that most people wouldn't touch without a clear reference to work from.

Seats are in. Switch works like factory. And that kind of trust, in both directions, is exactly what we build for.

Full technical write-up is up on the site if you want to see how deep this one actually went.

Upgrading an 80 Series interior usually starts with getting the right seats, but the real difference comes down to how cleanly everything mounts up and integrates.

Scott Dai already had a set of scheel-mann Klima Vario F seats and a passenger-side base ready to go. Before putting them in, he took a look at our hardware ecosystem and decided to upgrade his driver side with our complete setup instead.

We got him sorted out with:

80 Series Land Cruiser Seat Mount Kit (US Driver Side, Standard Mount Height with Sliders)

scheel-mann Harness Integration Kit (TSK-U017)

80 Series Seatbelt Extension Harness for driver-side powered seats (TSK-U015)

80 Series Switch Mount with Red Face Plate & Dual Switch setup (TS-JM103-R)

Now he gets a rock-solid mounting platform, seamless wiring integration, and a sleek dual-switch setup right at hand. Clean fitment, no hacked wiring, and built for the long haul.

Here’s the one interior upgrade you won't compromise on for long trips.

Wiring a Freshly Imported JDM 100 Series Land Cruiser for a scheel-mann Heated Seat Swap

This is a fairly technical write-up/explainer on solving this customer's seat heat issue. He was finally able to import the 2001 JDM100 Series he's always wanted and the first thing he knew he wanted to do was to switch out the seats to scheel-mann Vario F seats. The problem is the wiring for the JDM truck is different from the US-based 100 Series. After a few discussions he shipped us his seat harnesses so that we could get to work finding a solution. This is a culmination of that effort:

The large connector at the end of the main trunk is an 11-pin Yazaki housing, confirmed by physical comparison against our existing shop's stock. It's the same connector family used across other Toyota 100-series applications.

Had a customer request for a custom cupholder for their build. Since we already supplied them with dual switch mounts for their seats we figured what better way to tie it all in.

They have a super funky application so its not something useful for the majority of people but for these folks it seems to be exactly what they wanted. :P

When we started building switch mounts for scheel-mann's seat heater and Klima venting switches, we had a stack of mounts to reference, pulled from all kinds of vehicles. Our first batch worked great across the board. No problems.

Then we got to a customer's 80 Series build and tried our prototype on the 80's Planted mount just to see. That's when we noticed the sides were noticeably skinnier than everything else we'd worked with. Digging into our own 80 Series kit explained why: the tunnel and seat riser position up front forces any seat mount to be notched on that platform. Planted's solution was to slim the mount down and keep it symmetrical instead, which pushes scheel-mann's sliders right to the edge. Our original switch mount had nothing left to grab onto.

So we redesigned it, just for the 80 Series. The aluminum face now has a bent lip that acts as a front clamp, slipping right under the curve of the scheel-mann slider.

Problem solved. 80 Series switch mounts for scheel-mann switches, built for Planted Technology mounts, available in single or dual configuration, anodized red or black.

"Where do I install the switch?"

If you're running scheel-mann seats on a Planted Technologies seat bracket, you already know there's no factory home for your heated or vented seat switch. Most people end up zip tying it somewhere, running it under the dash, or drilling into the center console.

We built the Tolerance Stack Switch Mount to solve that. It clamps straight to your existing Planted seat bracket rail. No drilling, no permanent mods, fully reversible.

Fits all Planted Technologies brackets except the 80 Series Land Cruiser. Built specifically around scheel-mann round switches. Available in dual and single configurations, black or red anodized.

Whether you're still speccing out your scheel-mann seats or already running them on a Planted bracket and not happy with where the switch ended up, this gives it a proper home either way. Note: Planted brackets only, this does not fit any of our own Tolerance Stack seat mount kit products.Yes we know that's odd :P

All orders of the 80 Series Seat Mount kits for scheel-mann seats have all been shipped out (with two sets left in stock).

We did a cart before the horse situation. We completed the mount, produced the mount, shipped the mount. And all before we spent the time to finish the install instructions. Typically we have the instructions ready long before we ship.

Folks, anyone looking at getting a Tacoma or FJC driver mount, there was a manufacturing error on the latest production as seen from the image. The pan height from an earlier production run should match the pan height from all subsequent runs. It does not. You can also see from the image that the mounting holes are waaay off. This entire run needs to be scrapped.

There will be an approx 3-4 week delay in getting driver mounts out so please pad your timing accordingly.
