Hey guys, before I start this post, let me just say a quick thank you to everyone who’s been bearing with us as we switch over to this new system. I know it hasn’t always been easy, and there have definitely been some growing pains, but I promise—it’s going to be better for all of us once we get everything dialed in.

That being said… long, hard day here today.

Well over 100 phone calls, a line out the door, phones ringing nonstop, and, as usual, you guys somehow keeping me smiling through all of it.

But sometimes a long day is just a long day—and today was definitely one of those.

Before I wrapped things up, I did one last quick check to make sure there weren’t any responses I needed to take care of before heading home, and WHAMMO…

Doug, thanks for making me smile. 😂

It’s one of those things you normally wouldn’t think much of. But after a day like today, you see something that dumb and unexpected pop up on the screen, it puts a smile on your face, and somehow the whole day feels a little bit better.

So I guess that’s the reminder tonight: sometimes it’s the little things. Sometimes it’s the dumb things. But those little moments can make life better all the way around.

Here’s your reminder for the hard days: eventually, you get an easy one.

Around here, some days are just a grind. Employees leave you stranded, emergencies pop up, engines get pulled multiple times—even though we’re all supposed to be skilled professionals here, right? 😂 Machines pile up, customers are waiting, and the stress just keeps coming.

Then every once in a while, you get one like this.

This happened last week. How did a baseball get between the belt and the pulley? ⚾️ We’ll never know. But it knocked the belt off, and the fix was about as easy as they come: get the baseball out, put the belt back on, and away he went.

I didn’t even have to charge him.

And when it’s a customer like Scott—someone who puts up with us when his machine sits on the hill for a little while before we get to it, understands when we’re buried, and sticks with us through the busy times—it feels pretty good when you can return the favor and get him going that easily.

So when you’re having one of those days where absolutely nothing seems to go right, remember: the easy one is coming.

Sometimes it even shows up looking like a baseball stuck in a lawn mower. 😂⚾️

Goodbyes aren’t always easy… and some summers are harder to say goodbye to than others.

When it comes to our summer interns, you never really know what’s going to happen. Some we never see again, some circle back around, and some become those familiar faces that just never seem to leave. But either way, saying goodbye at the end of the summer isn’t easy. You start to like having these guys around!

When they first walk through the door, they really don’t know much about what we do. By the time they leave, they’re like little walking encyclopedias full of knowledge they didn’t have a few months ago.

So here’s to these two young guys as they head back to school. We’re hoping they’ll be back next summer—and maybe even during a few school vacations if we’re lucky.

As much as I’d like to say we taught them a lot, the truth is, they probably taught us a few things along the way too.

These guys poured their hearts into it all summer. From loading and unloading machines, cleaning the shop, helping customers, doing basic repairs, and even pulling a few engines under supervision—they jumped in wherever they were needed and did a great job.

If you stopped in this summer and got to interact with either one of them, give this post a like and let them know their hard work was appreciated. They earned it.

Good luck this school year, guys. We’re proud of you. Now go learn something—and don’t forget everything we taught you! 😂
